The Triglav National Park is situated in north-west Slovenia, and is the only national park in Slovenia. It's also home to the highest peak of Slovenia - Mount Triglav whose summit sits at 2864 metres within the Julian Alps mountain range.
As well as stunning mountain ranges, Triglav National Park also encompasses the beautiful Soča river and valley, Lake Bled, Bohinj and Jasna, enchanting gorges and waterfalls!
So here are just four waterfalls we would recommend visiting when in and around the Triglav National Park, in Slovenia!

1. Slap Savica
Slap Savica is located at the end of Lake Bohinj, just a 40 minute drive from Lake Bled. This waterfall is nestled within the Triglav National Park in north-west Slovenia, and derives from Crno Jezero (the Black Lake) which sits 500 metres higher in the Triglav Seven Lakes Valley.
The waterfall plunges down 78 metres into a stunning emerald pool of water below, and is known as one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Slovenia.
In fact it is actually the third most visited attraction in this amazing country! Meaning it can get very busy, especially during the peak summer season.
Check out our blog post via the link below for everything you need to know about visiting Slap Savica Waterfall - from how to get there, how to find it and how long you need to spend at this enchanting waterfall and most importantly, when to visit!
2. Kozjak Waterfall
The beautiful waterfall of Slap Kozjak is 15 metres high and can be found near Kobarid in the Soca Valley. The water plummets down through a small gap above into this dark limestone cave-like, chamber, to form a pool of bright aqua water below!
Kozjak waterfall is only accessible by foot, and takes about 20-30 minutes to reach from Parking Kozjak, about 5 minutes from the town of Kobarid.
Boka Waterfall, Slovenia
3. Boka Waterfall
Boka waterfall is actually Slovenia's highest waterfall and is located south of Bovec in the Soča Valley. And with a total height of 144 metres and width of 18 metres it is not only the highest waterfall in Slovenia, but also the mightiest and most water-rich! Although it's best to head here in late spring or early summer when there's more watering gushing down the mountains from the snow melting on the mountains above.
Slap Boka can be seen from the road below, however for the best view, it is a short 15-20 minute walk uphill to the main viewpoint of the waterfall. The path does continue on further up to a point where you can see more of the waterfall, but it is a less sturdy and not maintained path.
Pericnik Waterfall, Slovenia
4. Pericnik Waterfall
Slap Pericnik is one of Slovenia's most beautiful waterfalls and is only a short 40 minute drive from Lake Bled. Plus it's FREE to visit!
There is a small number of parking spaces on the road below the waterfall, although it can get really busy during the peak summer season. From the roadside you can see the Pericnik waterfall, but we would definitely recommend doing the short 15 minute walk uphill to the base of the waterfall. And the best part is you can even walk right behind the waterfall too - although you might get a little wet from the waterfall spray.
And if you're feeling up to it, then you can also walk further up to above the waterfall!
