Croatia Weather – When to visit

Croatia Weather:

The weather and temperature in Croatia differ between the coastal region and in-land.

The Adriatic coast has a typical Mediterranean climate, with hot, dry weather throughout the summer. Although it can get some wet weather in the winter months!

Inland tends to have more balmy hot summers, due to the lack of a cool coastal breeze. But winter here is colder, with snowfall likely.

When to visit Croatia?

The high season in Croatia is through July and August. But I would avoid visiting during this time... Popular places are filled with crowds and there's also the high heat of summer.

Therefore the best time to visit Croatia is either in:

• May or June - Note that the sea will be cooler in May, then later on in June or September time. 
• September or October

If you're thinking of having a city break in Croatia, then April can be a good time to visit. You'll get some warm weather (highs of 20°C) whilst avoiding the summer crowds!
