Our UK and Ireland Map Pin Board

With five map colour waves, over 15 pin colours and three different sizes to choose from, there’s a design for everyone!

We opted for the white and black detailed UK and Ireland map  in the medium size of 100 x 70 cm, with rose gold pins. But if you’re looking for more of a statement wall piece then the largest is 150 x 100 cm - nearly the height of Helen!

From Store to Home

Once we had chosen my UK and Ireland map pin board design, delivery was super quick. We got an email with my individual tracking number, so we could easily see what stage the shipping was at. As well as an email and text when my parcel was out for delivery.

In the end my map arrived within approx. 5 days - which we both thought was pretty quick seeing as it came all the way from the other side of Europe!

Trip Map also offer free delivery on all their maps when shipping to European Union countries (UK included) - and on all of their map sizes!

In terms of packaging, all of Trip Map’s products are shipped in protective film, bubble wrap and cardboard - meaning my map arrived in perfect condition!

Note: As someone who is conscious about the environment and plastic waste, it was great as there was no excess packaging. The only negative was that not all the packaging is recyclable. The cardboard was fine, but here in the UK we were unable to recycle the protective film and bubble wrap. However we kept the bubble wrap to reuse in the future #ReduceReuseRecyle

Coconuts and Camels Review of the UK and Ireland Map Pin Board...

Love the design!

First of all, we love the monochrome design of the canvas British Isles map we ordered. It’s super modern and just works perfectly with our living room's look and feel.

Although the map is super lightweight, the quality of the product also seems to be really good and feel it will withstand all of our future UK exploring!

Easy to hang up.

In terms of hanging it up, it was a bit tricky at first to figure out - I’m not the best at DIY.

But there’s a really useful blog post on the Trip Map website, about how to hang up your map. I would definitely check it out!

Pins Galore!

You get 100 pins included in each colour pot order - which is plenty to start off with! If you do run out or just want to order more to begin with, you can buy them separately online here.

One great idea is to have different coloured pins for different travels you’ve covered. Or have one for places you’ve visited and different coloured pins for the places you plan to visit.

For us, we just opted for the one pin colour of rose gold, as we personally like things to look quite clean and minimal.

Currently, we have pinned all the places we’ve been in England from our recent travels and staycations. And are now starting to use it to plan our upcoming road trip around Scotland - so far we’ve only used about a third of the pot of pins so lots more to keep me going.

The pins are really easy to insert into the canvas, and if you want to then remove them, they don’t leave a mark! Which is perfect for when you’re planning future travels and may be moving pins around.

It's in the detail

In comparison with other map products that we’ve used; we actually have a world scratch map that we have used to track our past travels. And although we’ve found it really great, we would have to say that we prefer this push pin canvas map.

Mainly because it’s a lot more detailed, so instead of just scratching off a whole country or area, you can pin the exact places (cities or towns) that you’ve been to or want to visit.

Also the canvas design is easier to hang on the wall and looks a lot neater, than a poster style map.

Conclusion

The perfect map to help plan our upcoming UK travels...

  • Make your own perfect map design - The different map colour waves, pins and sizes to choose from mean you can easily customise it to suit your needs.
  • Great gift for any travellers or UK adventure enthusiasts - especially love the look of the personalized Ireland and United Kingdom Maps.
  • Arrived in perfect condition - Our map was packaged perfectly meaning it was not damaged during shipping. As mentioned above, our only negative would be the un-recyclable protective film and bubble wrap.

  1. What a lovely idea! I had something similar a while back where we had a print of countries of the world and red stickers to show which countries we’d visited but I love the idea of a UK one for bucket list staycations. Great review!
