Pros of the DJI Mavic 2 Pro Drone

Why we love the DJI Mavic 2 Pro

But why do we love the DJI Mavic 2 Pro? Here's just a few reasons why...

PROs of the DJI Mavic 2 Pro:

  • 3 axis gimbal built-in - this results in better stabilisation of the drone camera
  • Hasselblad camera with a f 2.8 28mm lens - capable of capturing 4k video and 20 megapixel images!!!
  • Great battery life - which means longer flying time!
  • Really user-friendly app for your phone to control the drone from
  • Plus the drone folds up into a really compact size - meaning it's super easy to travel with!

Cons of this Drone model

The not so good points about the DJI Mavic 2 Pro

As much as we love the DJI Mavic 2 Pro there are a couple of cons to it as well...

CONs of the DJI Mavic 2 Pro:

  • Price - It’s not exactly a cheap bit of kit at around £1,300
  • Not much wind resistance - As it’s so lightweight, it does use quite a lot of battery to withstand wind. This also means that, even though it has great battery life, it’s not always the best in large open areas.
  • Only shoots in landscape mode - This is ideal for capturing YouTube video content, but when it comes to the current push of Instagram Reels and TikTok videos, the video needs to be portrait and in 16:9 format. You can of course just crop in your landscape video, but we find so much of the capture is lost and it just doesn't work very well.

Overview

Overall, we do really love our DJI Mavic Pro 2 Drone, and have no plans to upgrade or change it in the near future.

The only main thing we would ideally like to be able to do is shoot in portrait mode, but it's not a big enough problem for us at the moment to warrant getting a different drone model.

If you are looking into purchasing the  DJI Mavic 2 Pro, as mentioned above, we would also look at getting the @djiglobal Mavic 2 Fly More Kit. It includes two extra batteries, extra propellers, charging dock and car charger - A must have if you’re going to use your drone a lot!

And please don't forget to get insurance for all of your equipment to protect it if it's stolen or damaged.
